At the Jenever Museum, you can discover the story of a Belgian spirit with a centuries-old history. Housed in a former distillery, the museum brings aromas, flavours and craftsmanship together. See an authentic nineteenth-century distilling installation and learn how grain is transformed into jenever.
The Jenever Museum is located on Witte Nonnenstraat, a pedestrianised street in Hasselt. The former distillery houses a working, restored nineteenth-century distilling installation. Original bottles, stoneware jugs, glasses, labels and posters show how production, flavours and advertising have evolved over time. Films, audio clips and scent installations bring the story to life.
When the master distiller is at work, you can see how the historic recipe is still used today. You can also combine your visit with a guided tour, workshop or tasting, or even solve a murder mystery. Check the current programme before your visit.
A visit to the Jenever Museum is easy to combine with Het Stadsmus, Grote Markt Hasselt or a day of shopping in Hasselt.
